Face a Face Eyewear Arrives at Gibson & Syme Edinburgh

Face a Face Eyewear

Gibson & Syme is the new name for Spectacles Direct Edinburgh. The name change reflects the new direction of the company which includes stocking one of widest selections of eyewear in the capital. But that’s just part of the story; Gibson & Syme also focus on quality and individuality. With Tom Ford, Armani and Mad in Italy among the eclectic range available, you’ll get the drift. The latest eyewear brand to make the Gibson & Syme portfolio is Parisienne eyewear company, FACE A FACE.

Face a Face Glasses

COMBINING MODERN ART, ARCHITECTURE AND CONTEMPORARY DESIGN FACE A FACE was launched in 1995 by Pascal Jaulent and Nadine Roth. Their mission was to create handmade spectacles which combined art, architecture and contemporary design. Over the years they’ve taken inspiration from various influences including the work of Post-Impressionist artists Paul Gaugin and Henri Matisse. Then there’s the range of sunglasses recalling the heady days of Pop Art that Andy Warhol would have loved. And, how about the FACE A FACE tribute to the De Stijil movement (Dutch art style) which produced eyewear blending a strict code of graphic lines and vibrant colour-blocking. In fact, a unique colour range is a trademark of FACE A FACE, as are the playful touches such as the Bocca range. The Bocca range is branded as ‘eyewear with sexy legs’ complete with high heels at the end of each! In addition to the Bocca Optical range there is a collection of sunglasses – Bocca Sun – that Audrey Hepburn and Jackie Kennedy would have adored.

THE PERFECT FRAME NEEDS THE PERFECT LENS Each FACE A FACE frame is a small work of art with green accents, lavish reds and magical blues to create a statement piece. It is therefore fitting to choose the right lens which won’t detract from the design. Gibson & Syme specialise in varifocal lenses from top manufacturers such as Essilor, Hoya and Nikon which can be ultra-thin and suitable for al day wear. However, with frames as beautiful and individual as FACE A FACE, one pair might not be enough. Call Gibson & Syme, Edinburgh on 0131 553 9000 to find out more about our beautiful new collection of FACE A FACE eyewear. Or call in and see us at our showroom in Bonnington Road.
